3.06.01 – (LAA) – Hit and Run Picketing Cancelled, National Ballot Committee Received WTS for Ad Hoc Member of the EC from Marge Gorman

This is Leslie Mayo, National Communications Coordinator with an updated HotLine for Tuesday, March 6, 2001.

Due to the uncooperative weather in New York, we have been forced to cancel the Hit and Run Picketing of the AA Theater in Manhattan on Wednesday, March 7th.

We WILL be Hit and Run Picketing in Dallas and Miami on the Wednesday the 7th of March. In Dallas, we will picketing the American Airlines Center (currently under construction). The AA Center is due north of Dallas’ historic West End, east of Interstate 35E. Picketers can park in the Pike Park Community Center. There is a parking lot off of Harry Hines Boulevard. Please meet at 1245 in Pike Park just south of the parking lot; picketing will begin at 1300.

In Miami we will be picketing at the American Airlines Arena (Miami Heat will be playing against the Dallas Mavericks) The arena is located in downtown Miami on NE 7th Street from Biscayne Boulevard to NE 1st Avenue. Picketing starts at 1830

We also encourage all members to attend the “Hit and Run Picketing” of the TWA Bankruptcy Court Hearing in Wilmington, Delaware on Friday, March 9th. Picketing will begin at 0830 and the hearing is scheduled to start at 0930. The Bankruptcy court is located at 824 Market Street, in downtown Wilmington, Delaware. Uniform, Union Pin, Wings and a warm coat are the requested attire. If you live near or within a reasonable distance of Wilmington, Delaware please make plans to attend this event.

In other APFA news: Today, the APFA National Ballot Committee received one Willingness-to-Serve Notification for Ad Hoc Member of the Executive Committee from Marge Gorman who is based at IMA. Ad Hoc Members Place #2, #3 and #4 will be elected at the APFA Annual Convention which will commence March 17, 2001, at the Manhattan Beach Marriott in Manhattan Beach, California. Additional Willingness-to-Serve Notifications may be returned to the APFA Secretary anytime prior to the Convention.
