May 2nd Changes
APFA is compiling an abbreviated version of the JCBA Implementation Schedule that highlights the May 2nd changes at LUS and LAA. This will be published early next week.
One change the Union and company do not agree on is whether Mexico flying will receive International Per Diem (it will receive the International Override of $3.00 per flight hour). The JNC Implementation Team will continue discussing this with the company next week.

JCBA Reserve Rotation
With the upcoming combined Domestic/International operation for LAA along with a combined Reserve list beginning May 2nd, APFA has received some questions about Reserve rotation as outlined in the JCBA.
LUS Flight Attendants will remain on the current straight Reserve system until Flight Attendant Operational Integration (FOI)—estimated in 2017 (Letter 1.R.).
The following JNC Q&A, published in an earlier hotline, addresses the concerns about straight Reserve for LAA Flight Attendants hired after DOS:
Q: Will I be on straight Reserve if I was hired after date of signing (December 13, 2014)?
A: The new JCBA Reserve rotation, Section 12.A.3.a., will not be implemented until PBS, which is expected to occur for LAA no sooner than January 2017 (Letter 1.R.). No Flight Attendant who is currently employed by American Airlines will serve straight Reserve once PBS is implemented. When PBS begins for LAA, a Flight Attendant who has not completed 12 months with the company will finish out those 12 months on straight Reserve. Only new hire Flight Attendants hired in the same year of PBS implementation will be subject to straight Reserve for the remainder of their first twelve months.
Example 1
If a new hire Flight Attendant graduates from new hire training in February 2017, and PBS is implemented in May 2017, the new hire Flight Attendants would be subject to straight Reserve from May 2017 until February 2018, which would be the completion of her/his 12 months after initial training.
Example 2
If a new hire Flight Attendant is hired in June 2017 and PBS was implemented in May 2017, that new hire Flight Attendant will serve 12 months of straight Reserve.

Implementation of Lead / Purser Pay
We are pleased to report that the JCBA lead and purser pay rates will be implemented on May 2, 2015 (Section 3.C.). Flight Attendants working these positions will receive the applicable premium pay for each hour of a flight leg, scheduled or actual, whichever is greater.
