Despite continual input to Crew Planning, we are encountering a decrease of 1-day and 2-day trips in DCA, causing a lack of flying flexibility and higher Flight Attendant frustration.

Additionally, there are 90 Reserves for May compared to 77 Reserves in April. We are told this is due to a lower Line Average of 74.11 for May, but this is only down 13 minutes from April.

Meeting with the Company

After many months, the Company reached out to the former LUS Presidents in order to have a face-to-face meeting to review ongoing issues with Crew Portal, programming factors that contributed to the PBS December Meltdown, Storm Jonas, “Missing” Hotel Rooms, 24/7, Forced Double-Ups, and other difficulties negatively impacting our Flight Attendants.

The JSIC, JIRC, Scheduling and Reserve Representatives along with APFA National Officers were also in attendance.

For example, your Base Presidents asked why we encounter difficulty in reaching Crew Scheduling including Systems. We were surprised to learn that when the Company made the decision to relocate Operations from PIT to DFW last August, replacing 85% of the current Schedulers and adding 8,600 more Flight Attendants, they decreased the phone lines by 50%.

They hope to have this rectified in July 2016.
