9.10.16 – APFA LGA Base Brief – Remembering 9/11
Saturday, September 10, 2016
For most of us, we will always remember where we were “the day the world stood still”.
Fifteen years ago, our lives in the airline industry were changed forever as hatred left its stamp on not only America, AA, United, a small town in Western PA, and our Nation’s Capitol, but the entire country. We were paralyzed by the destruction both physically and mentally across the land. It seems as if it was yesterday.
Tomorrow we will pause to pay respect to our crews of BOS and DCA along with our Brothers and Sisters at UAL, and the First Responders. We continue to shed tears for the countless families of loved ones throughout the world whose lives were shattered as a result of those tragic hours.
Let us never forget the courage of those who faced evil in their final moments. We forever salute the men and women of that beautiful September morning fifteen years ago.
There will be a ceremony held at LGA tomorrow, September 11, 2016 at 08:30 at the west end of Terminal B, 2nd floor (CTB Connection Walkway)
JFK will hold a ceremony tomorrow as well at 11:30 at Hanger 10.
