WINTER STORM NIKO UPDATE
As everyone is aware, Mother Nature is alive and well on the East Coast, and the conditions are changing constantly.
As of our recent inquiries, the responses we’ve received from LGA and JFK Base Managers are as follows:
- LGA anticipating first departures at 1530, JFK has just canceled 6 more today.
- The IOC is controlling airport activity.
- JFK parking lot is being plowed and they have mini shuttles to take you to the bus stop. Remember, shovels for JFK are at the guard shack – please return them for the next crew member in need.
- LGA is plowed and they say busses are running.
- EWR- waiting on updates.
Please remember to follow IPP procedures if your flight/sequence cancels. Refer to your tablet or APFA Website for the ONLINE DUTY CONTRACT GUIDE.
As always your safety is paramount and we advise you to use caution. Please check with your local highway patrol for road conditions. Many roads have not been plowed and they may be slick with ice beneath.
Email [email protected] to receive alerts from all NYC Airports.
For commuters please review the commuter policy in the ODCG as well.
The company has indicated they have secured additional hotels should they be needed.
Again, your safety is our main concern. Take care of yourself.
In Unity,
Ellen Eherts
APFA LGA Base President
