10.27.17 – Message from LGA President and Vice President

LGA Flight Attendants,

It is with heavy hearts that Leslie and I inform you of our resignations effective January 1, 2018. We assure you that this decision, while difficult to reach, was made in the best interest of our base. The work required on a base level, as well as the issues we have nationally, need attention that we simply cannot provide at this time.

We both experienced tragedy and need time to navigate. We simply cannot provide the level of commitment that is necessary and deserved by our base. Taking a personal leave would not be fair to our Flight Attendants, and we would not want our personal struggles to distract us from the task ahead.

It has been an honor serving LGA based Flight Attendants. We are grateful for the opportunity and your support is immeasurable, especially in the past few months. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

We have submitted our resignations to the APFA National Officers, and we understand that elections will be held to fill our positions for the remainder of our terms. We encourage all of you to consider submitting a Willingness to Serve (WTS), while understanding the task at hand is a big one and will require 110% effort.

Since the APFA Board of Directors has decided that all elections will be conducted by mail ballot, please make sure your current mailing address is on file with APFA. [Update Contact Information]

The APFA National Ballot Committee will be providing details as to the dates of the election process. It is our understanding that if the election is not completed by January 1, 2018, the APFA Executive Committee will make an interim appointment.

No matter where the road, or skies may lead us from this day forward, LGA will forever be in our hearts.
