11.09.18 – Member Mobilization on November 18th

 

 

New York based Flight Attendants,

Remember the 18th of November when the ‘Little Union That Could’ made history and shut down our airline? Help us commemorate our historic strike by joining APFA in our nationwide mobilization event which will be held at airports across the system from 1100-1300 HBT.

Here in New York we will be picketing at both JFK and EWR, and we are very excited about this event. We are looking forward to seeing you there. Because this event covers a range of grievances against the company, including the toxic uniforms, and out of respect for our members who have been adversely affected by the uniform, we are urging our members to come in your old uniform, alternate grays or in street clothes.

For our upcoming local event we will have signs, bag tags and t-shirts (for those walking the line with us). We have a limited number of t-shirts, which will be available on a first come, first served basis. If you are coming in from a trip, join us on the line. If you are joining us on your day off, come as you are.

We have been given permission by American management at JFK to use the employee parking lot. We are asking that all APFA members planning to attend abide by the rules given to us by the Port Authority PD. We must remain in the areas that has been designated for our picket as well as common sense guidelines such as not harassing passengers, not blocking traffic and not affixing any signs to vehicles, fences or buildings. If members go into the terminal, there will be no mobilization inside the airport.

The picketing location at JFK has changed to upstairs on the outer roadway.

Robert Norvell, Newark Mobilization Coordinator, is still looking for volunteers to assist him by coming early and setting up at the departure level Terminal A. Call or email Robert to offer your assistance.

There is no need to RSVP for either airport picket.

Join us and bring your fellow APFA members. It doesn’t matter if you are coming in from a trip or leaving on a trip later in the day. Refreshments will be supplied by your local APFA representatives.
