Q. I heard we are moving to a straight reserve system, is this true?

A. No. Our current reserve rotation language is found in Sec 12.A.3 of the Joint Collective Bargaining Agreement (JCBA)  and is a hybrid rotation containing both a straight reserve portion, as well as two different periods of reserve rotation. Any change to the current reserve language would ultimately have to be negotiated and ratified by the membership.

A Place for Mom

Recognize It! Report It!

Nancy Rivard, retired APFA member and President of Airline Ambassadors International, will be conducting a seminar on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, during Human Trafficking Awareness Month. This event is in conjunction with the Super Bowl. All are invited to attend the End Human Trafficking ATL Summit. Convening at the Georgia International Convention Center, 2000 Convention Center Concourse, College Park, GA. Flight Attendants can play a pivotal role in identifying and reporting suspected victims of human trafficking.

The day is hosted by Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson International Airport and will feature a series of sessions with experts from various sectors, including communications, technology, elected officials, hospitality and transportation, corporate, law enforcement, airports and concessions. Panelists will participate in conversations about what’s being done in their respective areas to address the problem. End the Shutdown!

On Thursday, the Senate will vote on two bills that would provide a path to open the Government. The proposed bills appear to be largely divided along party lines and neither bill is expected to receive the 60 votes required to pass.

Meanwhile, Government workers like TSA employees and ATC controllers continue to work without being paid. We owe it to our fellow hardworking Americans, to our commitment to the safety of the flying public and to the security of our nation’s airspace to reopen the Government now. We must never let our guards down.

Aviation security cannot be compromised.

Call your Representatives and Senators and urge them to open the Government today. Capitol Switchboard202-224-3121

Mock Bidding for DFW and MIA

Mock bidding is open again to practice what you have learned in your PBS class. 2 rounds of mock bidding will occur in January, February and March. This is an opportunity to learn how all the properties interact with each other and how they impact the pairings that are pulled into your pairing pool.

  • Note: Because the participation rate in mock bidding is well below those of live production, your mock awards will likely not reflect your actual awards in May when PBS goes live.

Min/Max Credit Value

A reason report is available every month when you review your PBS award. That is where you will see if you have been held to a minimum required line value or maximum required line value at your seniority. If you have not been able to hold the hours you would desire in your Target Credit Range (TCR), you can find this information in the Award Tab at the top of your Reasons Report.
