9.05.19 – PHX Base Brief – October Allocations

Greetings PHX FA’s!

We recently had our monthly Crew Planning and Allocations call for the October bid month and would like to share some details with our PHX members.

We spoke again regarding sit times during multi-day sequences. The PHX Allocation team is still pushing to reduce these sit times especially when returning to base and subsequently having to do a turn after a 2+ hour sit.

4 day sequences are still at an unacceptable level. On the call we explained to them that this amount of 4 day sequences is not only undesirable but very unproductive to the operation especially during bid transition. We explained that since Crew Scheduling is unwilling to split trips, it then has a trickle-down effect when they have to take days off away from people instead of keeping our FA’s legal for what is on their line. This in turn, causing staffing shortages. We continue to push the company to get them down under 10%.

59 VLOA’s are being offered for the PHX base in October. Please reference the MobileCCI message sent out by the company on September 3, 2019 under MEDIUM priority. A link is provided in the message should you be interested in balloting for a VLOA.

The following is what to expect for the October 2019 bid period:

*1 day Sequence: 19.9%
*2 day Sequence: 30.6% 
*3 day Sequence: 38.5%
*4 day Sequence: 11%
