DFW CIRT Training

Hello DCA Flight Attendants,

Happy Fall!

It has been said “The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old but on building the new.”  Easier said than done, right?

Flight Attendants are a resilient group adapting to constant change that often seems overwhelming. A 2018 study shows that our professional rates at 62.3 out of 100 which lands in the Top 10 of “unhealthiest jobs” according to the Department of Labor.

Now the good news. We have several Peer-to-Peer confidential resources that are readily available to you.

Professional Standards

Encountering a conflict with a customer, fellow coworker, or the Company and not sure where to turn? Often we reach resolution by mediation and no issue is ever too big or too small.

Employee Assistance Program

As First Responders we are tasked with overseeing the safety and security of others.
Now we are doing it under even more challenging circumstances such as less space, more service and responsibilities with cabins that sometimes resemble Noah’s Ark.

It is a lot to juggle and often we simply are too busy (or fatigued!) and need a little help in order to focus on taking care of ourselves.

Your EAP representatives are standing by and can facilitate personalized assistance and referral with life events such as Drugs, Alcohol, Physical/Mental Abuse, Cyber Bullying, Stalking, or the Death of a Loved One.

Flight Attendants in Recovery

FAIR is for Flight Attendants who want to have a safe place to discuss their recovery, difficulties in sobriety with the stresses that come with our job, and for fellowship and support with others in our work group.

Critical Incident Response Team

CIRT is a solution focused approach that fosters resilience and growth by offering crisis intervention to affected Flight Attendants after a traumatic workplace event.
Many of your peers and management competed the yearly CIRT qualifications earlier this month.

Additionally, EAP Representatives from numerous AA bases recently attended 3 days of ongoing training at the Flight Attendant Drug & Alcohol Program (FADAP) along with several flying partners including Alaska, Air Wisconsin, Delta, JetBlue, Southwest, Spirit, and United.
