Dear Philadelphia Flight Attendants:

In a few days, we will be faced with one of the biggest challenges of our careers. We have seen hundreds of our friends already leave on previously offered VEOPs and long-term leaves. We will soon find out how many more are ending their careers by taking the VEOP. We will say goodbye to old friends who paved the way for us. We wish them the best life has to offer in their retirement.

We will also find out how many Flight Attendants are opting for short-term and extended leaves. If you are one who is fortunate enough to be able to take a leave, thank you.

The transfer awards will also be posted. For those opting to leave our base, we wish you well and hope to see you again soon.

Last but not least, we expect to hear the number of Flight Attendants who could be furloughed. APFA has been working tirelessly to try to come up with alternatives that could mitigate furloughs. We are still pushing very hard for the Payroll Support Program to be extended. If you have not already contacted your Representatives, please do so here.

The next few days will have a personal effect on people, whether they opt to retire, take an extended leave, transfer, or fall into the furlough number. Please support one another. APFA leadership is here to provide whatever support you need.
