Pandemic Leave Process for COVID-19 Exposure
or Positive Test Result

When a COVID-19 exposure or positive test happens at work or at home, it is extremely important to take immediate steps to file for a pandemic leave request. The Company has added and continually updates valuable documents on the Flight Service page, which can help answer your frequently asked questions.

COVID-19 Exposure Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Whom should I contact if I test positive for COVID-19?
A: Contact the Team Member Service Center at 1-800-447-2000 option 9, then option 4 to speak to the COVID-19 team. This is also the first step for contact tracing. You will then need to call Crew Scheduling to call out sick for your upcoming trips and file a pandemic leave request.

Q: What happens if I am exposed to COVID-19 outside of work?
A: If a healthcare professional has told you that you need to quarantine due to exposure outside of work, call in sick to Crew Scheduling and then request a pandemic leave.

Q: What happens if I am exposed to COVID-19 while at work?
A: Daily Operations will notify you that you have been potentially exposed to COVID-19 by a coworker or customer.

  • If you were potentially exposed to COVID-19 by a coworker, they will remove you from duty with a Code 13. This is a miscellaneous removal code that starts the day you are notified and will continue through the quarantine window.
  • If you were potentially exposed to COVID-19 by a customer, Daily Operations will contact you and ask several contact tracing questions to determine if you were exposed. If you were exposed, they will remove you from duty with a Code 13 and provide more information on what to do next.
