Returning from EVLOA

As you all know, the Company canceled all EVLOA’s and sent out cancellation notices to those Flight Attendants who were not scheduled to return prior to November 1st, 2021. In that letter, the Company stated conditions required to be met prior to return from EVLOA. These conditions included any online training necessary, Continuing Qualifications, and in some cases fingerprinting.

The Company has stated that it is imperative that anyone returning from an EVLOA make contact with the Company and inform of their intent to return. Please make sure your current company contact information, including your mailing address, is up to date. We have had situations where time-sensitive information is being sent to Flight Attendants’ old mailing addresses.

If you are unable to complete these “return to work” conditions, such as Continuing Qualifications, due to a medical issue or disability, the Company has stated that you must STILL contact American Airlines and inform them of your receipt of the notice and your intent to return to work. You then need to contact the Absence and Return Center (ARC) and take the appropriate steps to provide documentation.

If you do not make contact with the company regarding your intent to return from EVLOA, the company has stated that it could assume you no longer wish to continue your employment with American and process a resignation.  However, no one in this situation should be separated from the Company prior to their scheduled return date.

As you can see, it is IMPERATIVE that if you are returning to work from EVLOA and have not already made contact with the company, that you do so immediately. Do not wait until the last minute and please share this information with as many co-workers as you can.
