12.16.21 – APFA CLT Base Brief – Thursday, December 16, 2021

Thursday, December 16, 2021

Good Day CLT Flight Attendants,

New Hires
We have been welcoming New Hires into the Charlotte family every week and we will continue to see new faces for several weeks to come. Please extend a warm welcome to our latest additions when you cross paths with them. No matter how long you have been here, you always remember your first trips.

Reserve Tips and Reminders

Scheduling is now issuing Missed Trips for unable to contact on an ASSUMED RAP. The Company defines an Assumed RAP in the AA Reserve Manual as: “ROTAD will award sequences based on an assumed RAP when a Reserve doesn’t have a RAP (i.e., double-up bid). An assumed RAP is determined by your sequence that you already have.”

What this means is if you are not on a RAP and have an aggressive bid (Specific or Generic) in your choices, Scheduling is assuming you are placing yourself “On a RAP” for those choices. They must process everyone on the established RAPs first, but if they call you for one of your choices and you do not pick up, they will issue a MT. While the practice is controversial and being challenged here in Charlotte, Scheduling is continuing with the discipline points. Be careful when placing an aggressive bid when on Reserve, anytime you have been awarded an assignment, go back and take out any bids you have unless you are sure you want to pick up outside of your next Rap. This can include bids for trips after your RAP has ended or BEFORE your rap begins.

Critical Period Reminder
The critical period for the bonus point runs from December 22nd to January 3rd. You may be assessed an additional point for sick calls falling in this period. Do not confuse this with the pay incentive period of December 22nd through January 2nd. A sick call on January 3rd will negate the bonus point and result in an additional attendance point being issued.

Vaccination Updates
The list of cities and countries requiring vaccinations and testing to gain entry continues to grow. Munich is now requiring you be vaccinated OR provide a rapid antigen test not older than 24 hours prior to flying. Since getting vaccinated is an option, the testing will not be paid. Many countries such as Columbia are now requiring vaccination to enter. If you have been vaccinated, please check that your status is reflected in company records. You can check your status on your HI9. The vaccination code is 21 in your training history, if you have been vaccinated and do not see this code, contact your FSM for steps to correct this. If you have trips to cities or countries that require vaccinations, make sure you carry your vaccination cards on these trips. Always access Comply365 for the latest requirements before you start a trip.
