July 2022 Staffing and Allocations

Block hours for July will slightly decrease from last month. There will be an extra weekend which will impact frequencies and schedule changes. Also, the weekend leading up to July 4th will experience some pull downs in certain markets.

Planned layover rest will be constructed with 98% of the sequences containing at least 12 hours rest. Only a slight percentage will fall below 11 hours. We are still anxiously awaiting the FAA to implement the 10-hour non-reducible FAR rest. In actual operations, the Company can still reduce the rest to eight hours behind the door for non-IPD flying. Rockets cannot be reduced below 10 hours.

The Reserve percentage is forecasted at 23.1% as compared to 22.8% in June. This represents 677 Reserve heads up from 661 in June. We are slightly below the system average of 23.5%. Obviously way too high, as we continue to identify problematic sequences contributing to the high percentages.

The transfer list has been cleared for August. Hiring is planned throughout the summer, and Miami is projected to continue receiving new hires out of training. This will have a positive impact on the seniority of those having to serve Reserve.

The trend continues with less wide-body flying in both the Domestic and NIPD operation. MIA-JFK-MIA will operate a daily 2-day 1/1 on the 777-200. MIA-LAX-MIA will operate a daily Transcon daytime turn on the 787-800. The only NIPD wide-body trip will be a daily 2-day 787-800 layover in PHL, paired with HAV on the front end.

With COVID restrictions easing in Israel, it will no longer be necessary for crews to be routed through JFK. TLV will operate non-stop service on Wednesday and Friday throughout July with a 51.15 hour layover. The Sunday departures will have a 75-hour layover.

GRU will have only one daily departure in July. The Company was unable to build the trip as a Rocket due to the change in departure times, and the anticipated summer delays due to weather. So all Deep-South flying will have double layovers. I understand how popular the Rocket flying is, and I am sure I will hear from many of you. I will continue to strive for an equitable balance, and will make sure your voices are heard.

30-hour 1/1 layovers include DTW, ATL, PIT, and YUL. These sequences are built as a result from insufficient layover rest on the inbound flights, which requires crews the layover an extra day.

• DCA, LGA, JFK, RDU, PHX, DEN, IAH, MSY, ATL, YYZ
