Hey Chicago,

Justin and I want to thank each of you for your professionalism. We are a base that does the right thing. We show up on time. We do the work that needs to be done. I hear two things from flight attendants based elsewhere: Chicago Flight Attendants are rule followers, and Chicago is the best base. I cannot disagree. So thank you for the work ethic you display. It is my and Justin’s honor to represent you.

Warm weather is upon us! Time to enjoy the sunshine, blue skies, and green grass. The WINGS Lip Sync Chicago 2023 was last month. It is an event near and dear to my heart. The fun, the laughter, the love, and the support. The performers are FABULOUS! I wish this could be a twice-yearly event because the tickets sell out quickly.

Upcoming Events

• CAT Terminal Walk June 14, 2023. Your Contract Action Team will be at O’Hare from 0900 until 1400, talking to crews and handing out Union pins and red lanyards. Wearing the lanyards and your union pins shows our unity and determination to get the contract we need and deserve.

Dues, Dues, and more Dues

I told you I would not stop harping on our base becoming Totally Dues current. My last brief Chicago was over $200,000 in arrears. We are now less than $97,000 in arrears. That’s less than 400 Flight Attendants. First, let me tell you how proud I am. Yes, we have work to do, but what a Giant step we’ve taken. I would like all of you to go to APFA.org, sign in, and click My Account. It only takes a minute to see your status, and if you owe, make the payment right then.

While looking at your APFA account, check your address, cell number, and personal email address. Please make sure they are all current. Need I remind you that your AA email is a Company email?

With the weather heating up, so is the need for each of us to remain informed. Read the negotiations updates, watch their videos, and ask questions. Your negotiators have presented their proposals to the Company. We are preparing for a strike vote. If you are not dues current you have no voice. Our mission is to have a 100% reply when the strike vote is taken.
