Wonderland Parking

As you all have seen, Boston Inflight put out a communication regarding Wonderland parking earlier this week. You are getting a direct view into the frustration Boston APFA has faced since mid-September when this was brought to our attention. We have been pushing Inflight Management for ANY information almost daily and we continue to get little to no answers. Boston APFA has expressed our concerns to Boston Inflight regarding the implementation, safety of the parking garage, and reliability of the MBTA Blue Line. Your letters are being heard – continue to write to Elena, Beth Williams, Brady Byrnes, Robert Isom, Massport, and the City of Revere. By continuing to pressure American Airlines management, we hope to get our lengthy list of questions answered. For anyone who may already be parking there, please email your experience and feedback to both Devyn and me.

Massachusetts Paid Family and Medical Leave Changes

For applications filed on or after November 1, 2023, employees receiving PFML benefits may supplement (or “top off”) their PFML benefits with any available accrued paid leave (sick time, vacation, PTO, personal time, etc.). Boston APFA contacted the American Airlines State leave department in mid-October requesting guidance on how this would be handled for Boston Flight Attendants. Once we have more information on this, we will communicate it to the membership. In the meantime, anyone who files a PFML case on November 1st or after should contact Kelli and Devyn. iPhone EFB – iOS update due November 2nd

iOS 17.1 will become the new FAA-required minimum on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2023, so you must update before then to be in FAA compliance. In addition, please ensure your Comply365 Version is 8.2 and your IFM Revision is 10. Always sync Comply 365 after completing all these steps.

This APFA hotline is incredibly helpful to ensure your iPhone EFB remains in compliance.

Quarterly Training Due November 6th

The last Quarterly Training 3Q-4Q (WBT) of the year is due on November 6, 2023 @ 2359 CT. Training Pay will appear the month after you complete the WBT. If you have any questions or concerns, reach out to the Training Support Desk at 1-800-VIP-CREW Option 6 and then 1.

Informational Picket on November 16th- RSVP here!

The systemwide informational picket is slated for November 16th. We know many of you are asking “Where will we be?” As I’m sure you have guessed, Massport has DENIED our permit once again, citing “safety, security, and efficient operations.” Boston APFA immediately engaged with Governor Healey, Lieutenant Governor Driscoll, Senator Markey, Senator Warren, State Senator Edwards, State Rep Maduro, and Boston City Councilor Coletta. Conversations continue with their offices on what steps we have available to us to dispute the permit denial. This issue is not isolated to Boston APFA, AFA recently had a day of action on October 26th and the event for Boston United Flight Attendants was canceled due to a lack of permit. We will continue to keep you updated as we work to solidify a location.
