February is a leap year, with the month beginning on January 31st and ending on March 1st. The Super Bowl will be played on February 11th in LAS, and we expect to see added capacity from February 8th through the 13th. Presidents Day weekend begins on February 17th.

Reserve numbers are moving in a positive direction, with a reduction of 174 required heads from last month. We are projected to have 575 reserves for February, representing 17% of the base. We are optimistic this trend will continue as absenteeism supports this trend.

We will see an increase in Domestic wide-body flying and expect more turns to JFK, CLT, PHL, and DFW. Beginning on February 15th, there will be a JFK 1/1 and a 3-day with layovers in DFW and LAX split between the 777-200 and 787-8.

EZE will operate a daily Rocket on the 787-8 with a 13.05-hour layover that departs Miami at 2305. EZE will also use a daily 787-8 with a 38.50-hour layover leaving Miami at 2000. CDG will operate a 777-200 with a 46.30-hour layover the first week through the 9th, and beginning on the 10th, it will operate daily with a 22.30-hour layover and switch on the 22nd to a 787-8 for the remainder of the month. MVD will use a 787-8 on Wednesdays and Fridays with a 58.45-hour layover. Sundays will have an 82.45-hour layover. MAD, BCN and LHR will continue to operate daily on the 777-200 and 777-300. The SJU turn on the 777-200 will continue to operate daily.

Fingerprint Deadline

The deadline is fast approaching to fulfill the requirement to have your fingerprints taken. The deadline is February 23, 2024. We still have approximately 500 Miami based Flight Attendants who still have not met this TSA requirement. The fingerprinting office is located adjacent to the mailroom in Flight Service. They are open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 0800-1615. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 0600-1415. They are closed for lunch from 1200-1300, and closed on the weekends.
