Happy May everyone! Summer is almost here. Save the date for our next picketing events. May 9th and June 13th. Thank goodness we won’t be chanting in the cold. Let’s hope the humidity stays low.

Today was the staffing and allocations call with the company for June.

The contractual month is June 2nd – July 1st. Remember, July 1st through July 7th is the Critical Period. To receive your banked point, you must fly a trip(s) during those days (serving RAPs also count), but you cannot have any absences that includes FMLA.

Allocations

29% of June flying is wide body flying made up of domestic and international sequences.

CDG fliers! The Olympics will be held in Paris this summer. This has caused the need to switch hotels, due to excessive traffic times in and out of the city. This will begin July 7th. We wanted to alert you to this change now so you can enjoy the centralized Paris hotel before it changes to a location closer to the vicinity of the airport. The APFA hotel page gives more details and updates on certain markets.

The ODAN departures have increased substantially, we will watch how those are being flown and the impact on the operation. We have requested a cap on the ODAN percentages. While we are a base that loves them, we don’t want so many that they sit in open time.

Staffing
June is the first full month of summer flying, meaning Reserve and Lineholder numbers are higher than they were in the early winter and spring.

The Reserve percentage for Chicago is 20.9% vs system average of 22.7%

The expected line average for Chicago at PBS open is expected to be 83.0. The system average is 83.3. We continue to ask for lower line averages and fewer reserves.
