JFK-HND  SCHEDULING FAILURE

On Sunday, July 28, 2024, I was informed by one of the LGA Pursers that there were numerous instances of TTS transactions where the Purser position for the HND flight had been awarded to non-Pursers several days before the planned timeline. After verifying this information and seeing multiple social media posts about the disruptions caused on our flights to HND, I contacted the senior management at Skyview.

Yesterday, I followed up on my request for the TTS run data for this flight for the JUL and AUG months. This data is crucial as it will provide us with a clear picture of the scheduling issues and their impact. While I wait for the management to provide this data, I want to ensure that everyone understands the implications of this issue.

Purser Flight Attendants who submitted their ballots but were not awarded the position due to a non-purser award are disadvantaged financially. On the other hand, non-Purser Flight Attendants who balloted for the HND Purser position and were awarded it did nothing wrong. However, it’s evident that management violated our contract and may have caused an unbalanced TTS run for all the runs in which this error continued to happen, subjecting all Flight Attendants involved to a contractual violation.

HND is not just an important route for American Airlines. It’s a vital part of our operations. It’s regrettable that poorly managed scheduling systems and a management team that does not find immediate solutions to our concerns can negatively impact the customers that we strive to retain in this market.
